About

I am an experienced entrepreneur, contractor, and educator with over a decade of expertise in home remodeling, construction management, and yoga instruction. I currently am employed at Longwire KC and love learning about AV and lighting!  As the owner of Mrs DIY KC, I empower homeowners—particularly women—to confidently take on home improvement projects, focusing on cost-effective and sustainable solutions; reduce, reuse, recycle as much as possible. I have personally remodeled my own home and know how hard it is to do this alone (physically and mentally!). 

My background includes managing large-scale housing rehab projects, securing financing, and overseeing contractors to ensure quality and timely completion. In addition to my construction work, I have owned and operated Surya Yoga in Olathe, KS, since 2014, where I have trained over 80 instructors through my 200-hour teacher training program and taught over 12,000 hours of yoga classes. With a Master’s in Urban Planning from the University of Kansas, I am passionate about fostering learning and empowerment in everything I do.  I also have an undergraduate degree in Geography from KSU (GO CATS!).
