KCHBA’s Parade of Playhouses Returns this Spring Benefitting Habitat for Humanity Kansas City

The Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City (KCHBA) is pleased to announce that the Parade of Playhouses is scheduled for April 24-May 2, coinciding with the KCHBA’s Spring Parade of Homes, which runs April 24-May 9.

KCHBA members and area high school technical programs are designing and building eight unique playhouses to be auctioned off to the highest bidder. The proceeds from the auction will benefit Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City via the KCHBA’s charitable foundation.

“The builders and students have really outdone themselves this year with their craftsmanship,” said Will Ruder, executive vice president of the KCHBA. “I encourage everyone to come out and bid on a playhouse in support of Habitat for Humanity.”

The playhouses will be available for viewing by the public at Nebraska Furniture Mart in its pavilion on the west side of the building. “We’re honored to continue hosting the KCHBA’s Parade of Playhouses this year”, said Ethan Stover, NFM Store Director.  “It’s such a fun family event and a great opportunity to support the Habitat for Humanity of KC.  The attention to detail that goes into building these playhouses is very impressive, and the winning bidders will certainly be the talk of their neighborhood!”

Playhouse themes include a castle, happy camper, cozy cottage and more! Consumers will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite playhouses. A panel of judges will inspect the students’ playhouses and awards will be presented based on craftsmanship and innovation.

Online bidding will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 24 and end at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 2. Visit kchba.org to bid on a playhouse.
