IRC Wall Bracing

10:30 – 11:30 a.m. | 1 hour code credit

This presentation will walk you through an evaluation process that will help you better understand the Braced Wall requirements of the International Residential Code and how they impact the way that you design houses. Attendees will learn the basics of IRC and APA simplified wall bracing methodologies and how to address the code requirements for wall bracing.

 

After the Storm - Lessons Learned about Building for High Wind Resistance

12:00 – 1:00 p.m. | 1 hour code credit

An overview of how high wind forces work, the importance of a complete load path, and how good design and construction practices can improve the storm resistance of buildings. By understanding key code requirements and lateral load concepts, home damage in future storms can be minimized.


Details
